The author explains to us how since early times women and man have been trated different and woman had even been considered a major surce of temptations in coultures like Roman and Greek coulture.
That has also been said in Christian theology as women have been described as " the gate of the devil " or that her "only purpuse is conception and be the man's helpmeet".
Also in East and West men have always been more favorable, about rights, marigae laws and even prefered over female children.
But some countrys like England an European ones have given them power and prestige to them, a clear example of that are Queen Elizabeth of England in the 16th century, Catherine the Great of Russia in the 18th century, and Queen Victoria of England in the 19th century.
In my opinion history is a process and we now know things have changed a lot during the last centuries and in most countries Women have the same rights as Men, and that is important, I think we are not equal, we are not same, we are totally different and have different abilities but we should have the same legar rights and oportunities. Women are not a surce of temptation and although the natural purpuse in conception it is not the only one, like men we have many qualities and rights.
I agree with you. All men and women have the same rights and obligations. We are all one, working together we will change for the future of our country and the world. In history we have made great mistakes, how to punish women for many centuries. This is history and should not forget or leave behind, because he who forgets history is doomed to relive it again!
